What I read (and wrote) in March

Now that I’ve been writing on Medium for a year now, I think it’s about time I started a newsletter-ish sort of thing. I’ll post it on Medium as well as here.

Write-y stuff

The final chapter of The Consultant: Mothers and Daughters was published the first week of March, bringing to a close (for now) the story of Jim Kennerly. Jim and Mary are on their honeymoon in a condo at the Outer Banks of North Carolina along with Mary’s stepdaughter Ramona and her husband, Ben. Ramona’s got this all dialed in, and her long-simmering plans come to fruition in a super-hot scene! We will likely hear from these folks again, but in the meantime, the series is headed for Amazon as a novella in the next couple of weeks.

From the same neighborhood as The Consultant and Neighbors, Road Stories was introduced, with three semi-standalone stories in March. If you’ve read the whole The Consultant storyline, you’ve met Jim’s neighbor Alli and her daughter Zoey. Road Stories is focused on Scott, Alli’s husband. He’s on the road almost every week, Alli’s working crazy shifts at the hospital, and they’re both horny as hell. So they have their fun and tell each other about their “encounters” on the weekends while fucking each other’s brains out. More to come!

Coming up in April, I’ll have at least one, maybe two, stories for Exceptional Erotica’s Spring Formal prompt. And more Road Stories.

Read-y stuff

When I started reading (and then writing) stories on Medium, I was mostly unfamiliar with the Hot Wife/Cuckold genre. And I have to say that I really didn’t get it at first. But after discovering the stuff that goes beyond the humiliation of the husband, the “black bull” racist nonsense, etc, I finally get it. The warring emotions — guilt, lust, jealousy, love, uncertainty — all get you right in the chest.

Kenny Wright’s The Limo Driver and His Wife was a great example of that, and now I’m enjoying his new series Never Too Late To Play. I think I love it even more given that the protagonists are older than average (I love writing characters in their 50s). Three chapters in and it’s a great start!

I spent a couple of years after college living in a trailer outside my college town. It was the first (and really the only) time I’ve lived alone (I got married just a couple of months after moving out of the trailer). College town trailer parks are not quite the same, but Jess Brady does a great job in capturing some of the feel in her story A Trailer Park Romance. I really love this, and it’s encouraging me to finish the slightly-supernatural trailer park story I started last year.

Hotwifery is not always fun and games. Communications is key, people! The couple in Vivian White’s story Cuckold Consequences on Literotica find that out the hard way. Incredibly hot sex, coupled with some intense emotions and a lot of FAFO. Great read!

Finally, a couple of walks on the dark side (I’ve got one of those as well — you guys just haven’t met him yet). PadTy’s Tutto a Posto on Literotica is a little more subtle than some horror. Creepy things are happening in a beautiful suburban home. Very creepy. Great stuff!

On the other hand, subtlety is never a word I would use to describe Zatanna Dark. Funny, dark, crazy, nasty… and did I say funny? I would suggest staying out of the confessional booth for awhile, mkay? At least while Sister Janice is filling in for Father.

That’s a wrap for my March reading list. I plan to go back and read Delores Swallow’s “A Loaned Wife’s Journey” in full along with Max Sebastian’s “The Man Before Me” — both are long-ish series that I just haven’t been able to focus on but I’m fairly sure I’ll dig ‘em.

Y'all be good! Or at least be careful!

Welcome!

Welcome to the dirty mind of Anton J Pierce. Unless you randomly stumbled across this post, you probably already know that I'm a published author of... spicy romance? erotica? smut? Honestly I'm comfortable with all of those terms (although to date my stuff doesn't fit the tight definitions that go along with Romance).

I'll certainly be doing some self-promotion here, but I also want to highlight stuff that I'm reading that I think you might like. I'll also be talking some about writing - my process (if you can call it that), my thoughts on sub-genres in erotica, and of course whatever is running through my head.

This will NOT be a place for actual erotic writing. That you can find on Medium and on Amazon, and (under the quite silly name "flipnmelonfarmer") on Literotica. That's why I'm not age-restricting this blog (we'll see if the Meta cops agree).

If you haven't read my bio on Medium or Amazon, I'm a cis-het white dude living in a Southern college town and nearing retirement after a long career in IT. I'm married (40 freakin' years, y'all!) and unlike many of my characters, I'm happily monogamous. But I've got a damn fine imagination!

I started posting stories on Literotica in 2018, just to see if I could do it. And I got immediate positive feedback. So I wrote more. And got more good feedback. It's like a damn drug, people! I used what I'd learned about characters and dialogue to write a mainstream novel during the first year of the COVID lockdown, and published it under my real name in 2023. I won't be sharing that here, at least any time soon.

But I also put out a couple of spicy novels on Amazon under the Anton J Pierce name, which I'm thrilled to say both won awards from the wonderful All The Filthy Details podcast.

I discovered Medium as a platform some time in late 2023 and started writing non-fiction essays about erotica soon after. Happily, JK Mills from the Exceptional Erotica publication ran across a couple of them and invited me to publish with them, which of course seriously raised the visibility of my stuff.

Looking back on last year, I published a TON of stories on Medium. Some one-shots, a couple of novel-length series and a number of stories that fall in between. I've learned to write differently for that platform - primarily how to quickly sketch a situation and characters and still tell a spicy story in 2000 words.

I suppose I should mention where you can find my stuff.

I've currently got three novels on Amazon, with a fourth hitting sometime in April. You can find my author page here.

My Medium profile is here and I've got over 80 posts up!

And I do post on Literotica under my "flipnmelonfarmer" nom de smut - often my Medium posts will show up there a week or two after initial publication, but occasionally there are stories that lend themselves more to one platform than another. If you don't have a Medium subscription, it's a good way to find my stories.

Your comments and clicks and claps and other interactions keep me going!

Hope you folks will come along with me on this ride. Let's see what kind of trouble we can get into!
